The honour, regard, and respect the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), accorded the women in politics in Kosofe is second to none as the party fielded them as standard flagbearers for the House of Representatives general elections from 2007 to 2019, while the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, has continued to appear unfriendly to women as far as National Assembly seats are concerned.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) provided a platform for Kosofe’s Representative race, and Abiodun Oyefusi ran for Senator in 2019.

The three frontline female contestants under the platform of APC, individually and collectively, have maintained before political stakeholders that it’s the turn of the women to represent the good people of Kosofe Federal Constituency.

2023: Agunsoye, Arobieke, Alebiosu, Ogbara, and 3 others to battle for Kosofe Federal seat

The HonourableCommissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Mrs. Yetunde Arobieke, Mrs. Remi Odunsi, and Kafilat Ogbara, who are running under the banner of APC, are not leaving any stone unturned towards clinching the party ticket.

According to KosofePost findings, the female contestants who believed power is not served ala carte have reached out to Governor’s Advisory Council members and Leader, Party leaders and members, and delegates and equally performed the required traditional political rites.

The female contestants’ talk shows, interviews, digital, posters, banners, print, and electronic media campaigns are audible to the deaf and visible to the blind.

However, the question on the lips of keen political watchers in Kosofe is whether the party leadership will allow women to run for Rep seats in 2023.
