Ahead of the May 12 Kosofe Chapter People’s Democratic Party House of Representatives primaries, the race has been reliably informed that it has been reduced to two horse races.
The two major contestants include the immediate past Kosofe PDP LGA Chairman, Mr. Kunle Koya, and Mrs. Florence Adepegba.
The duo of Kunle Koya and Florence Adepegba from Kosofe Constituency 2 have since picked their expressions of interest and nomination forms for the lower chamber of the National Assembly race.
While Dele Segun Aroyewun (DSA), who earlier indicated his intention earlier, campaign activities and programs tempo has been reduced in recent times,
Kosofe Post learnt that some stakeholders bankrolling the candidature of Florence had pressurized him to withdraw from the race. Efforts are still ongoing to confirm whether he has picked his nomination and expression of interest forms or succumbed to the stakeholders’ pressure.
Following the strong opposition against the party in 2015, the 2019 candidate for the House of Representatives, Hon. Sherifah Hassan, has dropped her third term bid to throw her weight behind Florence.
The 30 adhoc delegates and 50 statutory delegates in Kosofe Federal Constituency on the platform of the PDP are expected to determine the party standard flagbearer for Kosofe if the consensus arrangement fails between Kunle Koya and Florence Adepegba during next month’s primaries.
