…Lawmaker assured residents of more intervention projects

Adekunle Aderoju, councilor for Odo-Ogun, Ajegunle, Owode-Onirin, and Agboyi Ketu Lcda, described the Red Cross-built Odo-Ogun pedestrian bridge as a commendable project.
 
He made the remarks while speaking to the newsmen on the sideline on Tuesday at Odo Ogun, during the official commissioning of the project.

The elated councilor appreciated the Nigerian Red Cross collaboration with the British Red Cross for complementing the efforts of the government in the locality.

He noted further that plans were underway to fix the bridge by the council.

He, however, later heard that the project had been taken over by the Red Cross.

He added that the government can not do it alone all the time as a result of the availability of funds.

While further congratulating the organization for assisting in developing the community, he assured them of government intervention in other areas to improve the standard of living of the dwellers of the riverine community.

In his earlier remarks, Chief Johnson Amademaja, the Baale of Odo-Ogun, expressed his profound gratitude to the Nigeria Red Cross for the critical life-saving intervention in the community.

“Our forefathers have been contemplating the pedestrian bridge construction for over 100 years without any success,” according to the community head, Johnson Amademaja.

I am happy that the British Red Cross made it come into fruition during my reign.

While further congratulating the organization for recently giving well over 50 households about 55,000 each, it pleads for more intervention from the British Red Cross during the bridge commissioning and working visit to the riverine community under Agboyi Ketu Lcda Area, Kosofe Local Government, Lagos State.
