Why one year in office was not celebrated- Ogunlewe

The Executive Chairman of the Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, has stated why one year in office on July 27, 2022, was not celebrated.

The council’s chairman, whose four months in office witnessed several drainage and road construction projects, said this is due to outstanding payment to contractors.

He noted that he could not embark on new road construction while owing contractors. In addition, the backlog will be cleared before a new job is awarded.

Speaking further, he said arrears of taxes the council is owing Federal Island Revenue Services ( FIRS) and debts inherited by his administration also contributed.

He, however, assured residents of Kosofe of more developmental projects while appealing to them to pay their taxes to the appropriate quarters.

He, therefore, urged the residents of Kosofe to pay their taxes to their appropriate quarters while assuring them of more developmental projects.

The Executive Chairman gave the assurance during a quarterly meeting with publishers and online newspaper practitioners—engaged by his council recently at the Kosofe Local Government Headquarters, along Ogudu Ojota Road, Kosofe.

The weekly award-winning chairman further vowed to execute and implement more landmark projects.
