Kosofe Council Chairman Marks 100 Days In Office, Gives Hiace buses to Legislators, Market women

-Renders account of stewardship in works, health, education and other sectors

The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, renders the account of his stewardship to mark his 100 days in office.

The colourful event, which was held at the Kosofe Council Headquarters on Thursday, also witnessed the the commissioning of ambulance, Hiace busses to Legislative Arm, and market women among others.

In his address at the event, Hon. Moyosore  said that his administration had accomplished modest achievements in the areas of Works, Housing & Infrastructure, Education, Primary Health Care, Environmental & waste Services among others.

“Today marks an important landmark in the annals of Kosofe local government area, as we render the account of stewardship in the last 100 days, to the good people of Kosofe and Lagos State Government, who graciously gave us this sacred mandate.”

“Foremost, I want to thank God Almighty, the Author and the finisher of every good thing, for giving us the wisdom to accomplish the modest achievements recorded over the past 100 days in office.”

Hon. Moyosore commended All Progressives Congress National leader, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his support and encouragement.

“Secondly, my debt of gratitudes goes to our leader of leaders, the indefatigable political strategist and awaiting President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Jagaban Borgu and the Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. On whose mandate we stand.We cannot thank him enough for his support and encouragement.”

“I want to thank all our party stalwarts, particularly the GAC members, various leaders, office holders here in Kosofe and All Progressives Congress’ party members, who stood by us during the electioneering campaign and ensured that our mandate was a reality.”

“I want to equally thank all the good people of Kosofe for their steadfastness, faith and belief in our Administration, particularly our fathers, the traditional rulers, religious leaders, artisans, the market men and women, leaders of Road Transport Associations, non- governmental and faith-based organizations.”

“The input of the various heads of administration and members of staff of this council is a great pedestal that has lifted our Administration to enviable heights. I will not forget my colleagues in the Administration, the legislative arms and my team for their relentless efforts in ensuring that we recorded these achievements,” he said thankfully.

He noted further that the 100 days in office has been action – packed by rolling out people’s oriented pragrammes and projects.

“The beginning of every task is usually the most vital, challenging and determining. How well you start says alot about how far you will go, your resilience to obstacles you may encounter on the path , and your chances of success. 100 days ago, we all began journey, one forged with inclusion and togetherness. They say a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single steps, and our community of Kosofe took that step together on the day I was sworn as Chairman of this Local Government. Some months ago, I stood before you all, just as I stand before you now, and made a promise to everyone of you. Most of you believed me then, believed in my intentions to even do greater things; you declared me tested and trusted, and gave me the opportunity to serve you all. For that, my team and I are truly grateful.”

Ogunlewe’s said his administration places high premium on the welfare of the people he urged residents to always feel free to express their views and comments.

“The people of Kosofe are, and will always be this Administration’s number one priority. It was what we promised and it is what we will deliver. Kosofe Local Government is an enormous family made of thousands of smaller family units. Yet, we are one good body, with one mind and one goal.”

While rendering the account of what his administration has been able to do since assuming office in August this year, Hon. Moyosore stated that in the area of Works, Housing & Infrastructure, his administration has been able to do” Construction of road and drainage system at Abioye street, Mende Maryland, construction of 10 roads projects on the under listed streets: Abioye street Mende Maryland ( Completed) while Awanatu Street; Oworo, Araromi Street; Ogudu, Adebayo Mokuolu; Anthony Village, Odubela street; Ojota, Ogundairo Street; Oworo, Ajoke Street, Ogudu, Idowu Dada; Street, Julius Kadiri, Ifako and Ara Orin; Ifako, construction of customary court and administrative building, the construction of health centre at Oworo, all are ongoing.

Also, the renovation and upgrading of the Executive Chairman’s office and some offices within the Local Government Headquarters.

Purchased four revenue buses, Aluta Jet bus for NULGE to aid services, Ambulance for efficient Service, Hiace bus For Legislators, Hiace bus For Iya Oloja, and dispatch motorcycles for service deliveries.

In the Educational and Library Services sector, Hon. Moyosore distributed free 150 GCE forms, organised tutorial and assured Five (5) best students bursary awards.

While in the health sector, deworming excercise of all public primary school pupils was carried out.

He implored everyone, particular the media to give his administration the needed publicity as they roll out various developmental programmes and projects. He added, Your friendly critism is also welcome, as this will keep us on our toes.

Rotimi Agunsoye, Chairman House Committee on Education, Honourable Sanni Okanlawon, Honourable Commissioner for Wealth Creation Employment Yetunde Arobieke, National Union of Local Government Employee ( NULGE) Kosofe Chapter, Market Women and men other stakeholders in their goodwill messages applauded the exceptional performance of Moyo Ogunlewe led administration within 100 days in office and urged him to sustain his good Governance.
