…Asks for tax relief for corporate organizations to support health system
A public affairs commentator based in Kosofe, Alhaji Rasheed Awofeso, has urged governments to make health services affordable to the citizenry.
He made the call while speaking on health development with the Kosofe Post (KP), principal correspondent, on Thursday.
He said, “Health services are not affordable to ordinary Nigerians. Therefore, health services must be subsidized to suit the purses of Nigerians. Thousands have lost their jobs immediately after the COVID-19 pandemic.
He further noted that if health is lost, everything is finished, whereas if wealth is lost, the loser may have a second chance to amaze in another round.
Continuing, he says, “The government should make health services affordable; the government may seek support from corporate bodies; and the government may provide tax relief as a form of soft landing and payback. A visit to general hospitals or health centers will give a true picture of what sick people are passing through,” he noted.
