This is a clarion call to the distinguished members and leaders of APC in Kosofe Local Government, this became necessary and imperative to forestall the imminent disaster staring in the face of the party ahead of the General Elections!
This is to keep every concerned member abreast of the happenings in the party in Kosofe, following the disgraceful and untold hardship some of our party members went through yesterday at Teslim Balogun stadium.
It has come to my attention the untold sufferings and inhuman act meted out to our loyal party members due to the nonchalant and deliberate punishment by the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon Moyo Ogunlewe, yesterday at the presidential campaign flag Off at Teslim Balogun stadium.
It is known to all that Mr Chairman in his capacity instructed the Ward Chairmen to mobilize ten (10) party faithfuls each across the seven (7) Wards to the venue of the campaign despite the fact that other Local Government Chairmen in Lagos State for example Agboyi Ketu, Somolu, Bariga, Ikosi, Isheri etc mobilized a minimum of fifty (50) members per ward in their respective domains to the campaign ground in support of our national leader and APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, but our local government was different.
It is disheartening and it saddened my heart to write this piece. It may interest you to know that those 10 loyal party members who were tricked and deceived to proceed to the venue with a promise that all logistics required for them will be made available at the venue, but the reverse was the case, No single T-shirt, no cap, or any form of campaign materials for the party members, hence they were left stranded without any means of coming back home despite they paid their way to the venue, no allowance or campaign materials, while many of them trekked from Teslim Balogun Stadium to their respective homes from the rally since they had no option, and for those who had been around since the beginning of this democracy will attest to the fact that this is against our party’s standard practice of campaign rally arrangement since 1999. I just hope this attitude of the chairman will not affect our party’s chances during the forthcoming elections, if he is allowed to continue in this direction.
All the party members who were able to find their way to the venue hoping to get the materials and a token were stranded, most of them were seen begging for materials and water to quench their thirst in the scotching sun! They were just like sheep without shepherd! They were all putting on long faces while others were dancing and cheering all the party big wigs! They are suffering in the midst of plenty!
In my view, it is clear that Mr chairman is not properly grounded in the progressive politics of APC and I want to believe that because he started his political career in the midst of conservative political family for his many action thus far, basically someone need to remind him that he is no more in his former party who are practically full of deceit and lies.
It is on this note, I want to call on the leaders and well meaning party faithfuls to caution and call him to order, most importantly as we approach the general elections in 2023.
The promisory message sent to the party faithfuls after the sad event is absurd, ridiculous and untenable.
He is a young man and I want him to know that power is transient and he should see the office as an opportunity to excel in his political career and not otherwise. Those parasites and praise singers around him are mere locust who are just out to feed their stomach and will later abandon him anytime their interest is no longer protected.
Kosofe is under divine punishment for wrong political decisions over time.
Our party has really suffered loyal party members and imposed strangers on everybody…the result is what we are experiencing now..
The political rascality and shenanigans introduced into the Kosofe political space by the council boss must be checked forwith or else the party will suffer the consequences at the polls.
Thank you
Oloye Salami Oluwaseun
