The Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, has commissioned a new semi-mechanized abbatoir to ensure hygienic conditions for meat processing.
The privately owned facility, located at the Owode-Elede Area of the LCDA, boasts offices, generating sets, water tanks, lavatories, washrooms for workers, and a space to house animals before examination by veterinary officers.
At the unveiling of the abbatoir, the council chairman highlighted that the facility would increase economic activities in the locality by creating direct and indirect jobs.
He further emphasized his administration’s willingness to partner with the private sector to ensure shared responsibility towards the development of the LCDA.
Dignitaries present at the event included Apex Leader of Agboyi-Ketu APC, Chief Stephen Oyedele, Chairman of Community Development Committee, Chief R.O Ajayi, Head of Administration, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mrs. Sonate Adebanji, Supervisor for Agriculture, Hon. Seyi Ikuejuyone, and Chairman, Agboyi-Ketu Revenue Committee, Prince Dotun Ajayi.
The commissioning of the semi-mechanized abbatoir is expected to enhance the quality of meat processing and contribute to the economic growth of the LCDA.
