The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Kosofe Federal Constituency, Mrs Florence Da-Coata Adepegba, has vowed to challenge the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representative-elect, Mrs Kafilat Ogbara, in court. Adepegba made this known in a statement issued to newsmen in Lagos on Saturday.

Adepegba said that the party rejected the election and was ready to challenge the victory of Ogbara as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday. She also revealed that they were armed with strong evidence of malpractices and electoral fraud perpetrated by the APC during the election.

According to Adepegba, the people of Kosofe Federal Constituency watched with utmost dismay the display of arrogance, election manipulation, destruction of BVAS and voters intimidation carried out by the ruling party, APC. She described it as the worst election ever witnessed in the history of Kosofe Federal Constituency.

Adepegba thanked all her supporters and asked them to continue to maintain peace, urging them that their mandate shall be reclaimed. She also assured them that she would pursue the responsibility of representing the good people of Kosofe Federal Constituency with all that she had in her.

“I appreciate your doggedness and determination to change the narrative of politics in Kosofe. I want to assure you that we are together in this, and I won’t give up just like that,” she said.

The PDP candidate’s statement has generated mixed reactions from the public, with some expressing support for her decision to challenge the election in court, while others are of the opinion that it is a waste of time and resources. The matter is expected to be decided by the court in due course.
