Hon. Babatunde Sanni, the incumbent lawmaker representing Kosofe I, Lagos State House of Assembly has extended hands of fellowship to his co-contestants in the March 18 gubernatorial and house of assembly elections.

Sanni, the APC Candidate, Kosofe I, made this known after he was declared victory by the Returning Officer for Kosofe Constituency I, by Prof. Ismaila Adeleke in Lagos on Sunday.

Sanni, who polled 11,649 votes to emerge victorious, expressed his willingness to work with his opponents regardless of their party affiliation. He emphasized that they are not foes and that the wellbeing of the people is the most important thing.

Sanni also promised to continue building human capacity through training and retraining, education, healthcare, infrastructure facilities, and good governance.

In his victory speech, Sanni thanked God for making it possible even though he went through tribulations. He expressed his disappointment at the ethnic kites that were flown during the elections, saying that merit, hard work, and performance should be the determining factors for those elected into political positions.

He called for a change in the system, stating that someday they would rise up in this country and allow character, competence, experience, diligence, and hard work to determine who should be elected into political offices.

Sanni’s victory shows that the people of Kosofe Constituency I have faith in his leadership and are willing to give him another chance to continue his good works. It is now up to him to fulfill his promises and work for the betterment of his constituents.
