Senator Adetokunbo Abiru Celebrates with Governor Sanwo-Olu on Re-election

Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, who represents Lagos East Senatorial District, visited the State House, Marina on Sunday to congratulate Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr Obafemi Kadri Hamzat on their successful re-election for another four-year term.

In a statement made available to the Kosofe Post on Monday, Senator Abiru thanked Lagosians for trusting the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the administration of Governor-elect Sanwo-Olu.

The statement also noted that Sanwo-Olu received a total of 762,134 votes, defeating his closest rival from the Labour Party who scored 312,329 votes. The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) received 62,449 votes, putting him in a distant third place.

Senator Abiru, who was accompanied by other prominent APC leaders in Lagos State, commended the hard work and dedication of the party’s members and supporters, adding that history will be kind to them.

The senator’s visit to congratulate Governor Sanwo-Olu and his deputy is one of many by supporters and party members, who have celebrated the successful outcome of the gubernatorial election.

The election was held on Saturday, with Governor Sanwo-Olu declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after satisfying the requirements of the law by scoring 25 percent in two-thirds of the local government areas in the state and also scoring the highest number of votes cast.
