First Citizen of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA Graces Hebron Schools’ Sports Competition

The 12th Bi-annual Interhouse Sports Competition of Hebron Schools, Irawo, Owode-Ajegunle witnessed a colourful display of top-notch sporting performances as the First Citizen of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mayor Dele Oshinowo graced the occasion.

Held at the open field of Apostolic Church, Olorunda, Ketu, the event entertained spectators with an array of sporting activities. The chairman reiterated his administration’s commitment to boost students’ competitive sport and nurture talents. Represented by his Deputy, Mrs. Folake Kayode, the chairman noted that the sports competition was another unique opportunity for pupils to express themselves through sports.

The proprietor of the school, Mr. Olaniran Lawrence, explained that the essence of the competition was to promote healthy rivalry among students, build better character, educate them on fair play, team spirit and create an interest in sports. He further noted that the school is devoted to identifying and nurturing talents.

At the end of the games, Blue House emerged the overall winner, with Green House coming in second, Yellow House in third, and Purple House in fourth.

Accompanying the chairman to the event were the Councillor representing Ward ‘D’ and ‘G’ respectively, Hon. Bashir Saheed and Hon. Adekunle Aderoju, Supervisor for Agriculture and Social Services, Hon. Seyi Ikuejuyone, Special Adviser, and Senior Special Assistant on Education to the Council Chairman, Mrs. Ebun Olufade, and Alhaja Abiola Osinuga.

The event was a huge success, and the students displayed exemplary sportsmanship. It was an opportunity for them to showcase their talents and improve their skills in a fun and competitive environment. The chairman’s commitment to promoting sports in the community is a significant step towards creating a healthy and active society.
