In a determined move, the Labour candidate for Kosofe Constituency 1, Osikominu Akinwande, has affirmed his commitment to uphold his petition before the Lagos State National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal. The tribunal is currently sitting at the Rosaline Omotoso Courthouse in the Ikeja area.
Having filed his petition against the declared winner, Hon. Sanni Ganiu Okanlawon, within the specified timeframe, Osikominu confirmed his readiness to vigorously pursue the case to its rightful conclusion. Speaking to our correspondent on Sunday, he expressed his belief in the ongoing legal process and his determination to bring about a positive change in Kosofe.
The Kosofe Post has reported that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Hon. Sanni Ganiu Okanlawon, was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with a narrow margin of 86 votes. As the House of Assembly inauguration date approaches on June 5, Okanlawon’s proclamation as the elected lawmaker will be overseen by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwoolu. In anticipation of this significant event, APC supporters, friends, and loyalists have begun preparations, including purchasing Ankara (Aso Ebi) for the proposed victory party celebration.
The stage is set for an intriguing legal battle as Osikominu Akinwande remains steadfast in his pursuit of justice, aiming to challenge the election outcome and potentially alter the political landscape in Kosofe Constituency 1.
