Anthony Village, Lagos – The Kosofe Local Government area of Lagos was filled with sorrow and mourning as news broke of the passing of the aged mother of Hon. Ganiu Oyebanjo, a prominent cabinet member. The beloved mother reportedly breathed her last on the evening of Friday, May 26, 2023, and is set to be laid to rest in iJebu Ososa, Ogun State, on May 27, in accordance with Islamic rites.
The announcement of the matriarch’s passing was made by her grief-stricken son, Hon. Ganiu Oyebanjo, who serves as a cabinet member in Kosofe Local Government. The news spread rapidly through the Anthony Village community, where the family resides, leaving many saddened by the loss. Imam Abdul Rafiu Oyebanjo, the Chief Imam of Kosofe, expressed his condolences and shared the news with the public, saying, “Alhamdulillah, My mother went to the Great Beyond on Friday, May 26, 2023. May her soul rest in peace.”
In the wake of this heartbreaking news, an outpouring of support and sympathy flooded in from the Anthony Muslim community, friends, family, neighbors, fellow Kosofe cabinet members, politicians, and residents of Anthony village.
