Mogaji Arisekola, a prominent businessman and publisher of The Street Journal Magazine based in Ireland, has issued an appeal to Nigerians, urging them not to destroy the future of Mmesoma Ejikeme. In a statement obtained by the Kosofe Post, Arisekola emphasized the need for forgiveness and called for Mmesoma to offer a public apology.
Arisekola explained that he purposely waited until the conclusion of the independent investigation conducted by the committee set up by Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, before commenting on the unfortunate case involving Mmesoma. He described her as a brilliant girl, citing her actual score of 249. Concerned about the potential consequences of the situation, Arisekola emphasized the importance of not destroying Mmesoma’s life and called for counseling, correction, and guidance for the teenager.
Recognizing that Mmesoma might not have fully grasped the weight and seriousness of her actions, Arisekola appealed to her parents to support her in issuing a public apology to JAMB, her family, and the Nigerian public. He noted that as teenagers, many people make juvenile mistakes that remain undisclosed. Arisekola urged everyone involved to focus on helping Mmesoma move forward and learn from this experience.
Expressing his plea to bring closure to this unfortunate chapter, Arisekola emphasized that Mmesoma should be allowed to proceed with her academic pursuits based on her actual scores. He criticized those who continue to promote alternative narratives regarding the issue, stating that such actions do not contribute positively to Mmesoma’s well-being or that of her family.
Arisekola concluded his appeal by urging all parties involved to put this incident behind them and move forward. He emphasized the importance of forgiveness, understanding, and providing Mmesoma with the opportunity to rebuild her life. The businessman’s plea highlights the need for empathy and support for young individuals who make mistakes, calling for a focus on their rehabilitation and growth rather than condemnation.
