In a bid to improve eye healthcare accessibility for the less privileged, Prince Kazeem Balogun, the Special Adviser on Community Affairs to the Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, took the initiative to organize a successful free eye screening exercise for residents of Ketu and nearby areas.
The health exercise, which saw an impressive turnout, identified and diagnosed various eye defects in hundreds of individuals. To address the immediate needs, the program distributed 294 free eye glasses, benefiting 46 individuals with eye drops, and providing 30 beneficiaries with cataract surgeries.
Speaking about the noble cause, Prince Kazeem Balogun stated that the primary goal of the exercise was to cater to the needs of the less fortunate who could not afford proper eye healthcare services. He emphasized that the initiative was intended to complement the efforts of the LCDA’s Executive Chairman, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, in serving the community.
Looking ahead, Prince Kazeem revealed his plans to extend the eye screening program to other communities within Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, demonstrating his commitment to ensuring eye health becomes more accessible for all.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Taibat Adebayo, expressed her heartfelt appreciation to Prince Kazeem Balogun for organizing the program and earnestly appealed for its continuity. Her sentiments echoed the gratitude felt by many who had their eye health concerns addressed through this altruistic initiative.
