The Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has reached out to traditional rulers, community, and religious leaders, seeking their support for the ongoing rehabilitation works on the 1.2-kilometer Agboyi Road in Alapere.

Agboyi Road holds immense importance within the LCDA as it is home to the seat of the Local Government Headquarters. Additionally, this road serves as a critical link to the historic town of Agboyi and provides an alternative route connecting Ayo Buhari Street to the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.

Mayor Dele Oshinowo, Chairman of the Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, conveyed this call during a meeting with the Chairpersons of the Community Development Associations impacted by the road project.

The Chairman emphasized the significance of this engagement, aligning it with his administration’s commitment to ensuring that LCDA residents feel a strong sense of ownership and participation in evaluating all the projects undertaken by the LCDA.

Furthermore, Mayor Dele Oshinowo urged the community leaders to collaborate with property owners along the road to clear any blocked slabs at the entrances of their gates. He underscored that the council would not offer compensation if these slabs are damaged. Additionally, the community leaders were encouraged to inform residents within their geographical areas to refrain from parking vehicles on the road.

The Chairman expressed optimism that the road project would have far-reaching positive impacts. It would enhance the LCDA’s economic prospects, improve transportation, and bolster interconnectivity. He called upon residents residing in the areas affected by the construction to extend their cooperation to the contractor overseeing the project.

During the meeting, community leaders lauded the Chairman for exceeding the expectations of the community, recognizing his dedication to enhancing the locality’s infrastructure.
