Town Hall Meeting Held to Sensitize Residents on Palliative Rehabilitation of Bako Road in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA

In a bid to ensure that residents are carried along in taking complete ownership of projects executed by the Mayor Dele Oshinowo administration, a town hall meeting was organized today to sensitize residents on the palliative rehabilitation of Bako Road.

Bako Road is one of the old access roads in the Owode-Ajegunle Area of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA. The road is significant as it connects several adjoining roads. Welcoming residents at the behest of the council chairman, the Councillor representing the domain at the Agboyi-Ketu Legislative Council, Hon. Adekunle Aderoju noted that the town hall meeting was to explain activities involved in the palliative rehabilitation.

Hon. Aderoju further commended stakeholders in the community for their continuous self-help projects to provide infrastructure. Stakeholders at the program cut across Community Leaders, Religious Leaders, Youths and Women Groups.

Responding to various questions, the Supervisor for Works, Aare Alaba Saliu stated that the palliative rehabilitation has come to stay in the Owode-Ajegunle Area of the locality. Alaba further explained that the present administration has vowed to ensure roads in Owode-Ajegunle are shortlisted for any landmark road intervention coming from the State and Federal Governments. He noted that the present palliative was geared towards bringing immediate succour, stressing that the bigger picture for the Mayor Dele Oshinowo administration was to ensure roads in the locality are fixed.

Also speaking, the Supervisor for Community Matters, Hon. Seyi Ikuejuyone urged residents of the locality to get involved in running affairs of the government. He noted that officials of the present administration in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA are running an open door policy, urging them to take advantage of the numerous channels of communication to interact deeper and encourage feedback for a greater locality.
