The Odofin Agboyi of the Kingdom and Agboyi Joint CDA Chairman, Prince Abubakar Seriki, has clarified the situation surrounding a donated transformer meant for the Agboyi community. During a visit to inspect the transformer with Kosofe Post, Prince Seriki emphasized that there is no controversy over the transformer and exonerated Olu of Agboyi, Oba Monsuru Abimbola Oladega.

The story of the transformer donation began with a promise made by Chairman Mayor Dele Oshinowo during an election campaign about four years ago. He fulfilled this promise by donating the transformer to Agboyi 1 community, specifically. However, due to a lack of funds, the community couldn’t transport the transformer from the Local Government secretariat.

When Olu of Agboyi, Oba Monsuru Abimbola Oladega, ascended the throne, he assisted the community with funds to bring the transformer to address ongoing power outage issues in the community.

Prince Seriki received the transformer on behalf of the community, and it is meant for communities around Agboyi 1, including PAPA, Aro estate, Ogo-Oluwa CDA, and Araromi. These communities have faced issues with electricity supply, and the transformer was intended to alleviate their problems.

Seriki stressed that the claims against the monarch are false and aim to create chaos within the community. The transformer was specifically allocated for Agboyi 1 community and should not be taken away without a replacement.

The community has been in discussions with Ikeja Electric (IKEDC) to address this issue. They are now appealing to IKEDC to install the transformer allocated to Agboyi 1, ensuring the community enjoys uninterrupted electricity supply.

The response from IKEDC and Media Relations Manager, Akinola Ayeni, is pending. The community continues to wait for the installation of the transformer that was donated several years ago to meet their energy needs.
