Agboyi-Ketu LCDA Charts a Bold Course for 2024 Under Mayor Oshinowo

In a bid to foster citizen participation and ensure a comprehensive approach to the budgeting process, the Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) under the leadership of Mayor Dele Oshinowo has conducted a strategic engagement with stakeholders to gather inputs for the upcoming 2024 fiscal year.

Organized by the Council’s Department of Budget, Planning, Research, and Statistics, the event saw Mayor Dele Oshinowo commending residents for their significant contributions to community development. He urged them to actively participate by submitting their inputs to create an implementable working document for the LCDA.

Mayor Oshinowo emphasized that the 2024 fiscal year would not accommodate virement, underlining the commitment to a transparent and well-structured budgeting process.

Highlighting the achievements of his administration, the Chairman assured the community that the Owode-Ajegunle Area would witness significant improvements. Two roads, Irawo Road and Ondo Street, are set to receive maximum attention in the coming fiscal year. Additionally, plans include the construction of two new recreational centers, complementing the ongoing project in Agboyi.

Addressing the stakeholders present, Mayor Dele Oshinowo expressed gratitude for their unwavering support over the last six years. He acknowledged existing challenges and outlined the administration’s goals for the next fiscal year, focusing on enhancing the motoring community in the Owode-Ajegunle corridor and constructing world-class recreational centers.

The chairman also revealed plans for a new administrative office in the council headquarters, aiming to improve productivity and enhance service delivery. Furthermore, the LCDA plans to embark on industrial drilling of boreholes, ensuring improved access to water in various communities.

In a technological leap, Mayor Oshinowo announced the adoption of a tech-driven approach to revenue collection. This innovative system will enable citizens to pay conveniently from their homes and businesses while effortlessly generating receipts on the go. The team members pledged to ensure a seamless process for tech-driven revenue collection, emphasizing the importance of capturing all properties in the LCDA’s database.
