In a bid to rejuvenate the political landscape ahead of the upcoming electoral season, Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Okanlawon, the esteemed lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 01 and Chairman of the House Committee on Local Government Administration, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Rural Development in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has been entrusted with the task of relaunching the formerly dormant Tinubu Mandate group wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Multiple sources have confirmed that the speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rtd Mudasiru Ajayi Obasa, has given the green light for this initiative, paving the way for a recent closed-door meeting attended by representatives from Ikosi Isheri Local Council Development Area, Agboyi Ketu LCDA, and Kosofe Local Government Chairmen. Additionally, insider reports suggest that Pa. Steven Adeola Oyedele has been appointed as the overall leader of the Mandate in Kosofe Federal constituency, following his engagement with selected stakeholders.

This move comes in the wake of the 2020 dissolution of all political groups within the APC in Lagos State, including the Justice Forum and Mandate, as announced by the APC Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC). The decision, made by the 27-member GAC, aimed to consolidate unity within the party. However, there has been no official statement issued by the GAC or the Party State Chairman, Pst. Cornelius Ojelabi, regarding the lifting of the ban on political groups.

As Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Okanlawon spearheads the resurgence of the Mandate wing, political observers anticipate a renewed vigor within the APC ranks, potentially reshaping the dynamics of the political landscape in Lagos State.
