Our attention has been drawn to a circulating report of a program hosted by Arise Tv where Hon Kafilat Ogbara, Chairman House of Representatives committee on Women Affairs and Social Development was making an allegation that the minister of Women Affairs Barr Uju Kennedy Ohanenye has been petitioned and invited by the committee over an alleged misappropriation of funds in the ministry.

We wish to make it categorically clear that this statement been made by Hon Kafilat Ogbara is not only false but misleading and an attempt to discredit the unrelenting Honorable Minister of Women Affairs who have within her 10 months in office made a significant impact on the lives of Women and Children across the nation ranging from Empowerment, Girls Child Education, Fight Against Sexual Gender Violence Etc.

It is also on record that the committee on Women Affairs have in no period communicated to the ministry, inviting her for any explanation or whosoever in regards to the alleged petition or conducts in office

Contrary to the false report, we make bold to say that the Honorable minister of Women Affairs is a woman of integrity, patriotism and moral excellence who operates an open door policy and accessible to all. This is in pursuit of her commitment to uphold the culture of transparency and accountability which the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is known for.

The Chairman House of Representatives committee on Women Affairs and Social Development Hon Kafilat Ogbara is saddled with the responsibility of oversight over the affairs of the Ministry of Women Affairs. On this note, the office of the Hon Minister calls upon Hon Kafilat Ogbara led committee not to be distracted by naysayers and join the Minister of Women Affairs in delivering on the dividends of democracy in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda.
