Honourable Tobi Oladepo, popularly known as PTO, has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on Special Duties. A distinguished member of the Lagos State Youth Parliament, PTO’s appointment signals a fresh wave of youth leadership in governance.
In an exclusive interview with KosofePost on Thursday, Oladepo expressed his gratitude to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Youth Leader for entrusting him with this role.
“As a youth appointed by the Lagos State Governor, I feel incredibly honoured and excited about the opportunity to serve in this capacity. This appointment is not just a personal achievement but a chance to make a meaningful impact on our community, particularly in addressing the issues that affect young people and enhancing our collective well-being,” he said.
PTO also acknowledged the influence of his mentors, including Dr. Muritala Seriki and EAO, as well as the unwavering support of his family, colleagues, and friends. He emphasized his commitment to advancing youth empowerment, education, and community development through his new role.
An alumnus of St. Gregory’s College and the University of Lagos, where he studied Political Science, Oladepo has long been active in student leadership, having served as Special Adviser to the National President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He also holds an Executive Diploma in Business Administration from the Institute of Management, Technology and Finance in Portugal and is certified in law and security from Nigeria’s Institute of Criminology and Strategic Studies.
In addition to his public service, Oladepo chairs the board of directors of the Matthew Oladepo Foundation and is the founder of the PTO Foundation, both of which are focused on youth empowerment and community development. He has formed strategic partnerships with educational institutions and local organizations to support initiatives in youth engagement, vocational training, and leadership development.
As he steps into his new role, Honourable Tobi Oladepo aims to accelerate initiatives that address critical issues facing Lagos youths, particularly in areas of education, community safety, and mentorship, to shape a brighter future for the state.
