Senator Abiru Pledges Road, School Projects at Ipakodo Day Grand Finale

The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, on Saturday, graced the grand finale of the 2024 Ipakodo Day, alongside notable dignitaries from Ikorodu and beyond.

Addressing the gathering, Senator Abiru announced the imminent commencement of several key infrastructure projects in Ipakodo and surrounding areas, including the construction of Apena Jimbo Street, Ojediran Street, Ibuowo Street, and the rehabilitation of classroom blocks at both Ipakodo Primary School and Ipakodo Grammar School. His remarks were warmly received by the royal fathers and the people present.

Highlighting the transformative impact of the SAIL Innovation Lab, an initiative by the Senator and his wife, Mrs. Feyisola Abiru, Senator Abiru emphasized how the lab has placed Ipakodo on the global map. Located in Ikorodu, the lab has already trained hundreds of young people, offering them vital skills and decent employment opportunities. “The socio-economic outlook of our community has been transformed, and it will only get better for our youths,” he said.

Among the royal dignitaries in attendance were HRM Oba Engr. Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, HRM Oba (Engr.) Basiru Aremu Sotonwa, the Sekumade of Ipakodo Kingdom, HRM Oba (Barrister) Semiudeen Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, and HRM Oba Olukayode David Raji, the Eweye of Isiu. The event was chaired by Chief Adewunmi Ogunsanya, SAN, The Odofin of Ikorodu, with many other prominent figures in attendance.
