The Lekki Muslim Ummah (LEMU) has announced plans to hold its Annual Imams Conference on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the Vice Admiral Jubrila Ayinla Multipurpose Hall, located within the Lekki Central Mosque Complex, 81A Hakeem Dickson Street, Lekki, Lagos. The event is scheduled to commence at 9:00 a.m. prompt.
This year’s conference is themed “Imams, the Youths and the Law” and is aimed at strengthening the relationship between Islamic clerics and the younger generation, while addressing critical legal issues affecting the Muslim community.
The conference will feature two major presentations:
“Imams and the Youths: Urgent Need for a Synergy”, to be delivered by Dr. Abdullahi Shuaib, Lead Consultant at AS & Associates. The discussion will be led by Shaykh AbdKabir Al-Asfar, Executive Director of ClearPath Islamic Centre.
“Shariah and Shariah Panels in Yorubaland: Matters Arising”, to be presented by Shaykh Shakirullah Obale, Qadi at the Independent Shariah Panel, Lagos. Barrister Iskil Lawal, also a Qadi with the panel, will serve as the discussant.
Prominent personalities expected at the event include Prof. AbdulKareem Olatoye and Prof. Adeleke, both from the Faculty of Law, Lagos State University (LASU). The conference will be chaired by Hon. Oyinlomo Danmole, President of the Lagos State Muslim Community.
