Students, community leaders, and changemakers gathered in their numbers for the Ubuntu Service to Humanity Seminar, a one-day empowerment event organised by The Queen Lily Nwabugwu Face of Maryland. The seminar focused on leadership, emergency preparedness, and community service.

Held in the spirit of Ubuntu — a Southern African philosophy meaning “I am because we are” — the event featured interactive panel discussions and inspirational talks aimed at equipping attendees with practical tools for community impact.

A major highlight of the seminar was the emergency response training, which included hands-on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) practice. Many participants described the session as eye-opening and invaluable.

Delivering the keynote address, Mrs. Lucy Ajayi, CEO of Ignite Education Consulting, charged attendees to embrace purpose-driven leadership. Her speech, described by many as energising, underscored the importance of intentional service.

Also speaking at the seminar was Pastor Francis Adebayo, who delivered a compelling message on the responsibilities of leadership and the moral imperative of service. His address struck a chord with the diverse audience.

Organisers expressed appreciation to all speakers, panelists, volunteers, and especially the Face of Maryland planning team, whose dedication brought the event to life.

The seminar closed with renewed energy among participants, many of whom pledged to carry forward the values of Ubuntu through active community involvement.
