The immediate past Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mayor Dele Oshinowo, has unveiled the Mayor Dele Oshinowo Foundation (MDOF), a platform designed to promote health, education, and social protection initiatives for vulnerable groups in society.

Speaking at the unveiling, Oshinowo explained that the foundation is an extension of his years of service to the community, adding that true service to humanity does not end with political office.

“For years, we have been lifting people—promoting health, creating access to education, and providing social protection. True service to humanity lives in the heart, not in office,” he said.

The launch has continued to attract commendations from residents, political stakeholders, and social media users. Civic Sentinel, a civic engagement platform, tweeted: “Well done Honorable.” Another user, Wale Oshinowo, wrote: “Weldone boss, I was just talking about you in a group earlier this week.” Temitope James added: “Well done Mayor 🙏✅🎈.”

In a constructive remark, a community member, Tunde Adeniji, urged the foundation to also include access to clean and safe water among its priority areas.

Similarly, political groups have endorsed the initiative. President of the Ta’awun Political Forum, Lagos, Taiwo Lasisi, described Oshinowo as a rare personality whose passion for touching lives is exemplary.

“The ones responsible for the birth of Dele Oshinowo are blessed and forever to be hailed. This is basically for his zeal in touching the lives of others, especially the vulnerable, through MDOF positively. I beseech the Almighty to widen the horizons of the foundation and elongate the life of Mayor Dele Oshinowo to live to benefit mankind the more,” Lasisi said.

The unveiling of MDOF has raised hopes of impactful interventions across health, education, and welfare in the months ahead, with strong community support signaling optimism for its future programmes.
