The General Secretary of the Lagos State Child Protection Network and respected child rights advocate, Omo’ba Rasheed Awofeso, was on Monday, September 9, 2025, honoured by family, friends, and community leaders as he clocked 60 years.
Awofeso, renowned for his decades-long commitment to child rights, grassroots development, and humanitarian service, received glowing tributes from across Kosofe and beyond.
In his message, Oloye Salami Oluwaseun described the celebrant as “a great communitarian and child rights protection generalissimo,” noting that his leadership and service remain a source of inspiration to many.
“Your unwavering commitment to community development and the child rights advocacy movement remain a source of inspiration within and beyond Lagos State. As you celebrate this milestone, may the Almighty grant you sound health, renewed wisdom, and greater accomplishments in the years ahead,” Salami said.
Other well-wishers also paid tribute, including Otunba Dehinde Shonibare, who prayed for long life and prosperity, and Comrade Chief Olaiya Shakiru, who wished Awofeso more years of good health and blessings.
Babatunde Shoneye, Education Secretary of the Kosofe Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), commended Awofeso for his tireless advocacy in protecting children’s rights. “Sixty looks good on you. May this new age bring you strength, joy, and endless opportunities to keep inspiring change,” he added.
From grassroots mobilization to child protection advocacy, Awofeso has built a reputation as a strong voice for the voiceless and a dependable pillar of support for countless families across Lagos.
His 60th birthday not only marks a personal milestone but also reflects decades of dedicated service to humanity.
