The All Progressives Congress (APC) has empowered ward leaders in Kosofe to nominate supervisors, a move aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots structure and curbing the imposition of candidates.
Findings by KosofePost indicate that the decision aligns with the recent directive of the Lagos State APC Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), which allocated council chairmen across the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) the slot to nominate Secretaries to the Local Government.
In a fresh twist, ward leaders in Kosofe have now been instructed to present their preferred nominees for supervisory positions — giving them a direct hand in shaping local leadership.
Before this directive, KosofePost learned that Kosofe GAC members, Otunba Bushira Alebiosu and Omoba Ademuyiwa Sosanya, alongside Kosofe Local Government Chairman, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe, had met to draft a list of potential nominees.
Analysts say the move signals a shift towards greater inclusiveness in APC’s internal decision-making at the grassroots level in Kosofe.
