A symbolic meeting of All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Kosofe Federal Constituency has sparked mixed reactions within the party, reflecting the fluid nature of political alignments at the grassroots.

While some observers described the gathering as an example of inclusive leadership, others dismissed it as a convergence of politicians pursuing personal interests.

Political analyst Ola’ Obasan praised the event, saying it demonstrated unity and a commitment to governance that leaves no one behind. “True progress is measured not just by policies but by the ability to carry everyone along, regardless of tribe, faith, or status. Real leaders understand that the strength of a community lies in its unity, and unity is born when every voice is heard, every citizen is valued, and every community is represented,” he said.

But APC chieftain Oloye Salami Oluwaseun countered that the meeting was not convened on behalf of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) leaders in Kosofe. He described it instead as “a meeting of like minds who share common political interests.”

According to him, politics is ultimately about interest, with allegiances shifting to wherever those interests are secured. “As for me and some others, our interest is protected under the umbrella of the GAC Leaders and Justice Forum,” he stated.

Oluwaseun also cautioned against underestimating the role of the party establishment, warning that “no one should shout or cry for help if the establishment is finally activated to perform their duty.”

The divergent interpretations highlight simmering undercurrents in Kosofe APC, where loyalty, personal ambition, and grassroots influence continue to shape internal dynamics ahead of the next electoral cycle.
