A political aspirant, Oladigbo Oluwasogo Olalekan, has formally announced his intention to contest for the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency seat in Osun State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Olalekan, running on the platform of the Social Democratic Party, stated that his decision to join the race is motivated by a desire to deliver effective representation and people-focused governance at the National Assembly in Abuja.

In his declaration, the aspirant emphasized the need to bring responsive leadership closer to grassroots communities and ensure that government policies translate into tangible benefits for citizens across the Obokun/Oriade axis.

He outlined a two-point legislative agenda prioritizing youth empowerment and infrastructure development. Olalekan revealed plans to sponsor a Youth Empowerment and Job Creation Bill aimed at addressing unemployment through skills acquisition programmes, entrepreneurship support, and partnerships with the private sector.

Additionally, he intends to champion a Community Infrastructure Development Bill, which he said would focus on improving access to essential services, including roads, healthcare, electricity, and education, especially in underserved areas.

Calling on residents of the constituency to support his vision, Olalekan stressed that collective effort is essential to building a future anchored on accountability, opportunity, and sustainable progress.
