Awori Kingdom Mourns Onimaidan of Maidan-Mile 12, Oba Egunjobi

The Awori Kingdom has been thrown into mourning following the death of His Royal Majesty, Oba Adelana Babatunde Egunjobi, the Onimaidan of Maidan-Mile 12.

The monarch’s passing was announced in a palace statement issued on Monday by the Olofin of Isheri, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Sulaiman Adekunle Bamgbade, FNATE (Ayodele-Edun Alaka III).

The Olofin described the death of the Onimaidan as a significant loss to the people of Maidan-Mile 12 and the wider Awori Kingdom, noting the late monarch’s contributions to his people.

“The passing of Kabiyesi is a great loss to the people of Maidan, and the entire Awori Kingdom,” the statement said.

Palace Extends Condolences

On behalf of the royal family, high chiefs, baales and the people of Isheri, Oba Bamgbade expressed condolences to the bereaved royal family, residents of Maidan-Mile 12 and other subjects mourning the monarch.

The palace prayed for the repose of the late monarch and strength for his family and people to bear the loss.

“May the Almighty grant Kabiyesi eternal rest and grant the Royal Family and his people the strength to bear this irreparable loss. Adieu, Kabiyesi. May your reign and legacy continue to live on,” the statement added.

The palace is expected to announce details of the monarch’s burial arrangements and traditional transition rites in due course.
