Olu of Agboyi Visits Olofin of Isheri to Foster Monarchic Harmony

The Olu of Agboyi, Oba Monsuru Abimbola Oladega, embarked on a momentous visit to the Oba (Engr) Sulaiman Bamgbade, the Olofin of Isheri in other to strengthen inter-kingdom relations and preserving the unity of the Awori tribe.

This landmark visit marked the first official meeting between the two monarchs since Olofin’s ascension to the throne.

Arriving at the majestic Palace in Isheri’s Kara, Ogun State, Olu of Agboyi was accompanied by his consort and an entourage of distinguished Awori kings, high chiefs, and palace officials. The visit, which commenced at 2:00 pm, aimed at paying homage, fostering unity among Awori monarchs, and extending an invitation to Oba Sulaiman for the upcoming 3rd coronation anniversary of Olu of Agboyi, scheduled for August 20.

During his address, Olu of Agboyi highlighted the importance of solidarity and collaboration among traditional leaders and the Yoruba people. He lauded the transformation of Oba Bamgbade’s palace and the improvement of local road networks. Recollecting his earlier visit when the regent was in place, he expressed gratitude for the successful installment of the monarch following their prayers.

He also reminisced about his prior visit, where he implored aggrieved parties to avoid litigation, acknowledging that such disputes had hampered swift development in Agboyi Ketu. “The purpose of my visit is to notify you about the 3rd anniversary on August 20 and seek your Royal Blessings,” declared Oba Oladega.

Addressing the historical roots of their heritage, Oba Oladega emphasized that Isheri Olofin, founded by Olofin Ogunfunminire, was intrinsic to the Awori lineage. He traced their ancestry back to Oduduwa, whose lineage included Olofin Okanbi, the progenitor of Ogunfunminire and others. Oba Oladega underlined the interconnectedness between Agboyi and Isheri Olofin, explaining that the origins of both settlements were intertwined.

In response, Oba Bamgbade articulated the shared heritage of Agboyi and Isheri Olofin, asserting their united status prior to governmental delineation.

He commended Oba Oladega for fostering unity through his welcoming of visitors in Agboyi and his reciprocal visit to Isheri Olofin. Oba Bamgbade bestowed royal blessings upon Olu of Agboyi, offering prayers for peace, progress, and prosperity in Awori land and its environs.
