The Mayor Dele Oshinowo Foundation (MDOF) has announced 4,000 additional health insurance slots for residents of Kosofe Federal Constituency, Lagos State, as part of an expanded healthcare initiative now branded Kosofe Cares.

The expansion builds on an earlier rollout of 2,000 health insurance slots by the foundation, which aims to reduce out-of-pocket medical expenses for families across the constituency.

In a media statement released on Tuesday, MDOF said the rebranded initiative reflects its renewed commitment to improving access to healthcare at the grassroots.

Free Medical Outreach Across Greater Kosofe

Implemented in collaboration with Seyi Tinubu, the Kosofe Cares medical outreach is scheduled to run from October 30 to November 7, 2026.

The programme will cover Kosofe Local Government Area, Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), and Ikosi-Isheri LCDA.

According to the foundation, more than 4,000 residents of Greater Kosofe have benefited from its free health insurance initiative over the past year. The expanded outreach is intended to bring essential medical services closer to residents and ease the financial pressure associated with healthcare costs.

Medical Services and Screenings

Residents participating in the outreach will have access to several free services, including health insurance enrolment, medication, tuberculosis testing, and blood sugar and blood pressure screenings.

The programme will also provide eye examinations, prescription eyeglasses and one-on-one consultations with healthcare professionals.

According to MDOF, beneficiaries will receive explanations of their test results and guidance on managing their health needs over the long term.

The foundation urged residents to share information about the programme with friends, neighbours and family members to encourage participation as the Kosofe Cares team visits communities across the constituency.

“Your health matters. Your family’s health matters,” the foundation stated.
