In a bid to address the issue of over loading and ensure constant power supply, the chairman Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, has given out five brand new transformers to his communities.
The transformers were handed to community heads at the council headquarters amidst pomp and ceremony.
Communities that got transformers are: New Odo-Ogun CDA, Ajegunle, Thomas Laniyan CDA, Ajegunle, Oko-Agbon CDA, Agboyi 1, Araromi CDA, Ajelogo, and Ajegunle CDA, Ajegunle.
Speaking during the event, Oshinowo noted that the gesture was to rescue communities from recurrent blackout.
He said: “The purpose behind the gesture is to rescue our communities from recurrent blackout being experienced over the years as a result of load shedding, which has affected businesses and productivity negatively.

“Likewise, it is our firm belief that the distribution of these transformers will improve power supply and boost economic activities in our local council, thereby heralding a healthy Internally Generated Revenue regime in our LCDA.
“In view of this economic transformation to light up businesses in our domain, let me say unequivocally that the LCDA will supervise the installation of the equipment in the various communities they are to be installed.”
On his part, the representative of Ikeja Electric, Mr. Olarewaju Yusuf, commended the local council for procuring an efficient transformer, affirming that the five transformers are of the highest quality.
He further described the LCDA’s gesture as a ‘helping hand to support Ikeja Electric’, pledging that the power firm will work with the local council to ensure speedy installation.
Also speaking, the Lagos State Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Otunba (Mrs) Yetunde Arobieke, commended the council chairman for aligning his blueprints with the plans and policies of the Sanwo-Olu administration in order to develop the state.
Extending appreciation to the council mayor, the community leaders led by the LCDA’S CDC Chairman, Chief R. O Ajayi, thanked the chairman for surmounting the major bottleneck hindering business growth.
Corroborating the words of the CDC Chairman, an Igbo chieftain residing at Araromi Quarters, Ajelogo, Chief Emeka, declared his open support for the All Progressives Congress, stressing that the good works of the executive chairman will forever glue his thumb to the party.
