Mayor Dele Oshinowo, the Executive Chairman, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA has reiterated his administration’s desire to improve on the ongoing transformation of Agboyi-Ketu if voted for a second term in office.The first citizen of the LCDA made this disclosure during an interactive session with a group of youths, held at the council’s conference room to render his account of stewardship so far in office.
The session featured the introduction of guests and a question and answer period on issues that bothered the administration, with the participants voicing their concerns and commendations in a relaxed and unrestricted atmosphere.
During the session, the chairman admitted that human needs are unlimited, stressing that the cardinal principle of his administration was to adopt the economic usage of scale of preference in tackling the immediate needs of the people.The cited principle has resulted in a plethora of landmark achievements, as noted by the participants, the Chairman explained that his administration has not incurred any debt since its inauguration into office from 25th July, 2017, adding that all marks of progress recorded so far in the LCDA was through a calculated, prudent, robust management and planning of the meager resources available to the council.
The chairman noted that more steps are in the offing to boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the LCDA through the ongoing real estate engagement in the Ajelogo/Akanimodo Area of the LCDA undertaken by his administration.Upon completion, the housing estate will generate more revenue for the LCDA in future years.
Enthusing further, the chairman said the recent industrial drilling of water boreholes would be carried out in seven communities, but not limited to Agboyi road, with the contractors moving to Agboyi town in a few days, followed by Owode-Ajegunle.The chairman said the huge resources expended on the drilling exercise of about 130m- depth was to ensure the populace have accessed to clean water, referencing that the successful drilling at the council headquarters was enough evidence that the salty environments in our LCDA can have access to water that meet the required standard for human consumption.
On human capacity development, the chairman highlighted the impact of his administration to helping the under-privileged in the society. Mayor Dele posited that there is an ongoing Agboyi-Ketu Empowerment Scheme tagged ‘WeLift’ initiated by his administration, noting that the scheme its first of a kind in the history of grassroots administration with a training exercise which spans from six months to two years depending on the vocational course being applied for.
At the end of the exercise for a successful participants, the council will provide equipment, one year shop rent, start-up capital and a post- evaluation design in order not to allow the beneficiaries let down their guards.
The chairman also informed the gathering that there is a plan to make Agboyi-Ketu, the vocational hub of the state, explaining that his administration is in touch with the Lagos State Government so as to acquire a storey building located in Ajelogo, constructed by the State Government for the training of the unemployed.

On the issue of feedback, the chairman described it as the potent secret behind the success of his administration, noting that feeling the pulse of the people is the greatest advantage to shape any administration for victory.He further assured that more windows of communication would be opened to feel the pulse of the people in his second term in office.
In conclusion, the chairman advised the participants to be actively involved in politics, affirming that the kind of leadership we get at any level is as a result of the degree of participation.
