Eti-Osa Maternal and Child Centre Matron, Mrs Oladele Sadiat Eniola has bowed out of service, yesterday after 35 years of service in the state health service commission.
The pull-out ceremony took place at the Eti-Osa Maternal and Child Centre area of the state, with thousands of well-wishers in attendance. She was Matron for several years.
The colourful pen down event; medical workers, friends, and family too turn to micmick the leadership style of Matron Oladele’ coupled with unprecedented goodwill messages.
In his welcome remarks, the Medical Director of MCC, Eti Osa area of the state, Dr. M.O Kadiri who described Oladele’s as a problem solver, mother, entrepreneur, goal getter, value adder said she contributed immersely to the success of over 250 delivery patients they have recorded since the centre was opened about 2 years ago. He added, she is a great leader that build other leaders”.

The chairman of the occasion, Former Medical Director of Ijede MCC, Drs. O. Bankole said she has been a great pillar of support to many medical directors from Gbagada, Ikorodu, Ebutte Metta General Hospital among others.
While speaking at the occasion the Medical Director, MCC Ijede commended the outgoing matron for the meticulous service and charged those still in the service to do more with those things they have learnt from Mrs. Oladele that make Eti Osa to be great to take it to the next level. She further stressed that things that gives patients joy to tell others more of it must be done. Nurses should always strive to be the best like Mrs . Oladele and look out for each other, she counseled.
Speaking at the valedictory and pull-out ceremony coincidental with her 60th birthday, she expressed her profound gratitude to the Managing Director of MCC Eti Osa, Dr. Mustapha, Apex Nurse and management for their unwavering supports over the years.
She implored all nurses to be a good team player alongside frontline health service workers.
Oladele said, “Wherever you are be a good nursing. You know my medical director when I was at the Gbagada General Hospital,..?despite the fact, I had one pregnancy in 1996 Dr. Kadiri was my saviour, He was the one that helped me. After 10 years I met him at Ebutte Metta and shouted he is my helper. I was so happy when I saw him and I promised to stood by him, and God help me to achieved that.
The highlight of the occasion was the cutting of the 60th birthday.
