The forthcoming local government elections in Lagos and Ogun States was reportedly to have clashed with the Ward Congresses of All Progressives Congress (APC), which has also revealed poor communication with Party Headquarters.

Recall that the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) and Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) had earlier announced July 24 as the day to conduct elections into the councils.
However, the national body of the APC on Friday also declared that the party’s ward congresses would come up on the same day.
Yobe State Governor and Chairman Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee of the APC, Mai Mala Buni, led other members of the caretaker committee to a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday.
After the meeting, the party disclosed that the timetable for APC Ward, Local Government and State Congresses had been approved by the President.
According to the APC, Ward Congresses will hold on July 24, Local Government Congresses holds on August 14, while State Congresses will come up on September 18, 2021.
Both the APC and other opposition parties in Lagos and Ogun are set for the local government elections scheduled to hold on July 24.
However, APC members in both states are disturbed by the clash in date, wondering who should adjust the date between the APC national body and the states’ electoral commissions.
