The outgoing Kosofe Local Government Executive Chairman, Hon. Afolabi Sofola has finally bowed to pressure as he allegedly pay over 2.5Million political royalty to member of Lagos State House of Assembly representing Kosofe Constituency 1 Hon. Babatunde Okanlawon.
Over the last 4 years, Sofola has been paying royalty to Political leaders in Kosofe ranging from One Hundred thousand to Five hundred Thousands Naira monthly. One of the beneficiaries is of the largesse is Okanlawon , a serving member of the state Assembly.
Sofola, only recently took possession of the council monthly security votes after several years he was denied. Kosofe Post has reliably informed that 250,000 monthly payment to Okanlawon’s withheld last year has been paid.
According to our findings, Sofola, was invited by the House of Assembly Committee, Okanlawon is believed to be behind the invitation.The Committee intervention led to the swift payment of the royalty arrears estimated to be over 2.5Million to the Okanlawon yesterday according to multiple sources.
Mr. Ganiu Okanlawon is the Chairman House Committee on Education in the Lagos State House of Assembly denied the allegations described as balderdash.
He said appropriate committee of the house oversight the Local Governments for review of their activities that Kosofe cannot be an exception.
In his reaction he said, ‘Carry out your investigation properly. It’s all bunkum. All the 57 Local Government and Local Council Development Areas were invited by the appropriate committee of the house that oversight the LGs for review of their activities, Kosofe cannot be an exception.
KOSOFE LG / SOFOLA-OKLA FINANCIAL ALLEGATION- an unholy romance of taxpayers money.
As a concern citizen of kosofe federal constituency… my attention has being drawn to the front and back argument & counter argument / allegation on the activity of the out going chairman of kosofe LG and the Member representing Kosofe constituency 1 at the LSHA, who are using Taxpayers money to settle political score
First and foremost, I have read the allegation as reported by Kosofe Post and I have also read the press release of the chief Press secretary of the LG. Taiwo Fadipe
Firstly, I want to echo it sound and clear that it is not news to many politically conscious resident/citizens that there is no smooth relationship between HON SOFOLA & OKLA, all public relations show off are cosmetics. I personally know the relation went sour at a point in time with some empirical leaked recorded discussion of some gladiators within the party, and so the chief press Secretary should spare us from the narrative of all is going on well between the two leaders.
Before proceeding, I did like to draw the attention of the Chief Press Secretary to the fact that his house is leaking, not just one puncture but several holes in the roof of the house he is speaking for. The fact is, it is either he is ignorant of this fact or he is just playing to the gallery to suit his pay master. One fact remain sacrosanct… some of us who are politically conscious go all out to gather information regarding our immediate environment where politics is played. Infact folks like me, will not just stop at hearsay, will go as far as they can to get fact and figures with raw evidence and will tell who ever cares to debunk their hard earn information to charge them for defamation…. The court is always sweet for civil case.
Be that as it may be, I know one of the biggest task of the chief press Secretary is to be master in act of changing narratives to favour it pay master… to nail it, they must be a professional LIAR/ a mentor to Lai Mohammed.
So I am not surprise at rhetoric of the CPS in trying to convince us on what to believe and what not to believe.
Instead of flexing muscle on changing narrative, it is much more easier for your legal team to come up with a charge , so we the people of Kosofe can see the outcome to know who is the liar here.
To say the least, the political pressure from the oversight team of LSHA is not just a passerby committee, it is a cash out committee and so we need no teacher to rewrite history on how oversight committee make money from those they are over seeing.
On this note I submit that the present crop of leaders and representatives are not better than yahoo boys… this money either in form of royalty or whatever name you call it, is the reason why there can be no meaningful development in LG, STATE & NIGERIA as a whole.
So pathetic that the same LG that paid WAEC fees of all the secondary school in it jurisdiction in 1998 under the leadership of Aremo Segun Adekoya is now being run by advance Yahoo plus leaders.
I can only but imagine that the receiver of the unholy 2.5Million is acting Holy! Holy!! Holy!!!
