As schools resume this Monday, Gbadegoke Adekoya, the Majority Leader and Councillor representing ward E of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA has visited the 3 local primary schools in ward E, and has donated over 2000 free, branded books amongst other stationeries for young learners.
The gesture, targeted at cushioning the effect of the numerous expenses undertaken by primary school parents prior to resumption.
Research has found that children who have their own books are nearly three times more likely to enjoy learning.
Gbade, in a goodwill message delivered to the pupils of Ayedere Ajibola Nursery and Primary school, Oluwalogbon Nursery and Primary school and Idera Nursery and Primary school on Monday 20th September, 2021, noted that he has come to redeem his pledge, a promise to give back to his community.
“Education, being our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today, is our first priority to contribute towards ensuring the future of our kids are secured. Hence the need for this ‘Back To School Support’.

MOYO OGUNLEWE TO GIVE ADDITIONAL FREE GCE FORMS TO STUDENTS
This project is to complement the effort of our amiable chairman, Mayoress Samiat Abolanle Bada, to rejigged and reform the education sector in Ikosi-isheri LCDA.
This is evident in her erstwhile distribution of school bags, writing materials, Sanitation apparatus and furniture to school children residing within Ikosi Isheri LCDA axis.
Taking a cue, I got inspired to contribute to the education of my constituents in my own little way. This will be a continuous exercise, and it will come in batches.
Ayedere Ajibola Primary school, Oluwalogbon Primary school and Idera Primary school, will benefit from the ‘Back to school Support’ package.
Bearing in mind that I am just a little over a month in office, I felt obliged to contribute my quota to my constituents, timely even with the little resources in my capacity, to procure these books towards the service of humanity.
I urge you, the beneficiaries to be dedicated, hardworking, Godly, and obedient to your teachers.
I shall continue to exploit all areas and possibilities to improve the education standards in my ward.” He concluded.
A pupil, Emmanuel Nnaemeka, in reaction to the Councillor’s gesture, thanked and prayed for the councillor, he also promised to remain of good conduct, during learning. “Thank you, sir. May God continue to bless you”, he noted.
All political caucuses were fully represented at the presentation, including the Ikosi-Isheri CDC Chairman, Mr Adekoya. This development, we believe, is in line with the ‘Good Governance’ initiative of the Minister of State for Health, Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora. “I have no interest, my interest is good governance”, he disclosed this, at the stakeholders engagement with Kosofe chairmanship aspirants and their leaders, ahead of the primaries, on 15th of May, 2021.
