Bamgbade paid courtesy visit to the Olu of Agboyi Kingdom, Oba Monsuru Abimbola Oladega Akinmasa1, in his palace on Thursday, December 2, 2021.
In his welcome address, The Olu of Agboyi Kingdom, Hrm Oba Monsuru Abimbola thanked the monarch for the historical visit and pledge allegiance that their cradle is from Isheri olofin.
He noted that Olofin is the head of aworis Monarchs in General touring all aworis towns since he was crowned, and this prompted his visitation to Agboyi on Wednesday.
He said since he became the Olu of Agboyi over a year ago he has been preaching unity, peace and love which has made many opportunities to elude Aworis indigents in the time past.
Oba Oladega’s noting further said Olofin is a young monarch and ever since he ascended the throne he has been moving from one place to another to equally preach Unity and love among the aworis indigents generally.
“He is here today to reiterates what I have being saying here and what he has being saying in Isheri Olofin.”
While praying and admitting that the young Olofin of Isheri is the head of all aworis Monarchs, he enjoined all Kings, Baales and Chiefs who are subject to ogunfuminre to give the Monarch the maximum support.
“In Egba, there is head of King, accepted and respected by his people. In Ijebu, there is head of King, accepted and respected by his people. In Badgary, there is head of Eguns, accepted and respected by his people.
In Awori, we must accept and respect the head of awori Monarchs.”
He enjoined all to accept Isheri Olofin as their cradle and give maximum support to the 20th Olofin of Isheri, HRM Oba Sulaimon A. Bamgbade so that Aworiland will reach the promise Land among others.
The visit, according to the Olofin, was just like visiting the abode of one’s forefathers, as he told those who gathered in the open field where he was received by the Olu of Agboyi, that Agboyi town was founded by descendants of ogunfuminire who migrated from Ile Ife.
In his remarks, Oba Sulaiman, who was at the palace with other chiefs and prominent indigents of the town, said: “We are happy to be at Olu of Agboyi palace to greet him, since we also have our roots in Agboyi ancient town.”
Speaking to the Journalists on the significance of his visit, Olofin noted he visited Agboyi because it’s Popular among the aworis nations.
“I have been going round since I was elected as the Olofin of Isheri. Isheri is the cradle of all Aworis found in Lagos and Ogun State.”
Olofin further noted that he has been touring the aworis towns to promote unity and peace among the sons and daughters of olofin ogunfuminre. ” I am glad to visit the Olu of Agboyi Kingdom and the people of the town. I came here to preach unity and peace among us. Sothat, we can have, we can have one voice.”
Traditionally, Awori are found in two Nigerian States: Ogun and Lagos. The Awori people migrated from Ile Ife and occupied the present day Lagos state.
Olofin emphasized the importance of speaking in one voice among the aworis. Added, “It’s only good, it’s only fair we begin to find our voice so that we can claim and get our right.”
The monarch who concluded his tour of Awori towns in Agboyi ancient Kingdom under Agboyi Ketu Local Council Development Area in Kosofe, Lagos said he has preached the same thing in every other places he visited. “I hope we will consolidate on it.”
The first Olofin of Isheri to visit Agboyi Kingdom advised Awori indigents everywhere to continue to be diligent, unite and speak with one voice.
The Olofin enjoined Aworis to come together and speak with one voice so that there could be progress. He also appealed that they should continue to promote culture and tradition, debunking the belief that tradition had to with idol worshiping.
Among those who accompanied the Olofin of Isheri to Olu of Agboyi’s palace were the Alaketu of Ketu, Hrm isiaka Adio Oyero Balogun, Onishaginsha of Shaginsha, Hrm Oba Aileru Jamiu Lawal, Olojodu of Ojodu; Oba Samuel Olusegun Shobowale, Chief Imam of Isheri olofin, and other numerous traditional chiefs.
