The Sophie Exquisite Club of Nigeria sworn in the Lawmaker representing Alimosho Constituency 1 at Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable Adebisi Yusuf during awards and Investiture ceremony held recently in Lagos
The House Committee Chairman on Commerce, Industry and Cooperative, Yusuf and 8 others joined Grand Patron of the Club during its programme themed” Nigeria awaking the giant within prospect/ pitfalls.”
The two speakers, Mr. Oladele Ogunlana and Mr. Lanre Oyenuga ( Eruobodo) separately noted that unpreparedness of leaders at the helm of affairs over the decades leads to the country current precarious situation.
They further noted that today’s leaders are once a follower, who are products of the larger society before entrusting them with the people’s mandate.
However, They added that the change the country’s required begins with each one of the citizens by stopping indiscriminate disposal of pet bottles, sachet water nylon in the drainage system. More importantly, know your candidates before entrusting them with our votes to prevent continuous Blame Game Syndrome among others.
The President of the club, Mr. Steve Olufemi Akadiri described the occasion as a member day celebration, recognition and Honouring professional Outstanding members.
He said the club has a National outlook. Also, with diaspora, members decided to improve her rating by raising the board of patron and matron to be more viable and credible.
He added investing the Patron, matron, unveiling of annual awards credible and reputable professional who have distinguished themselves in their various field of endeavors was the Hallmark of the members’ day celebration.
The social club has organized series of Seminar, workshops, empowerment programmes, projects and Membership is opened to all Nigerians that meets the basic requirements and past the necessary background checks, according to the President, Mr. Steve Akadiri.
The club, which is currently sponsoring professional kid boxers, assured that 8 more kid boxers will be sponsored in year 2022.
Addressing the pressmen, Honourable Abdulrahman Adebisi Yusuf said he graced the occasion after due diligence background check of the club on who they are and what they stood for before accepting identified with them. He added that he got fascinated Sophie Exquisite Anthem which partly reads,” We believe in leadership, fairness in humanity, in oneness we are guided.”
Responding to the allegations that some Politicians are notorious for looting the treasury of the country and how it will be curb to make the country great.
He said the Politicians been referred to as crocoaches and rabbits that allegedly eat up the treasury of Nigeria’s are products of the same society we belonged. He added that they are sons and daughters of somebody in Nigeria.
“That’s why I said our social menu will determine what we will become. You blamed all the leaders and forget the followership.”
He noted that the man who gave the lecture concentrated only on leadership, and he later came back and accept that we must talk about followership. “In a country, Where you sacrifice merit for meritocracy that is what you will continue to see,” Honourable Bisi Yusuf opined.
He further noted if the people with right mission and vision that can generate ideas to make the society better approached the Electorates, he won’t be voted if he doesn’t have money.
The lawmaker insisted that changing the country’s narratives is both the responsibility of the followership and the leadership at the helms of affairs.
