Senator Obanikoro, others donates to refurbish of their Alma mata library

Giving back to one’s Alma mata has been described as not only a thing of joy but also an everlasting legacy worthy of emulation.

This statement was made at the formal inauguration of the renovated Alhaji Jimoh Gbadamosi ultra-modern Library at the Anwar-Ul-Islam Model College, Agege, Lagos State, sponsored by Senator Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro on behalf of the ’77/78 set of graduates.

Senator Obanikoro, in his address, stated that the old Ahmadiyya College (now Anwar-Ul-Islam Model College) made him who he is today. He described the quality of teaching and learning he and his colleagues enjoyed as second to none, adding that it was through the dint of hard work and grace that resulted in many of the products of the school excelling in their respective endeavours and careers.

The former Ambassador to Ghana stated further that “today, we have a very rare convergence of our old students who have individually and collectively distinguished themselves in various fields. I am moved to tears now looking around remembering what we had those days, hence, my desire to continue to contribute my quota to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the College”.

At the very colorful event, the member representing Eti -Osa Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Honourable Ibrahim Babajide Obanikoro (IBO) announced the donation of 30 laptops as a mark of his continuous support towards the library project.

Some dignitaries who graced the occasion included Ahaja Morufat Obanikoro and Children, a former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Femi Pedro, a former Minister for Communications, Major-Genaral Tajudeen Olanrewaju, former ICAN President, Senator Kola Bajomo, Erelu Kuti IV of Lagos, Chief (Mrs.) Abiola Dosumu, Hon. Justice Ishola Olorunnibe, Mr Tunde Folawiyo (represented by Mr. Hakeem) Mr. Remi Makanjuola of Cavaton Helicopters and many others.
