KOSOFE LG HOLDS RETREAT AS A PRELUDE TO YEAR 2022 BUDGET PRESENTATION

It was indeed a sanctuary of relaxation, an ideal cottage for intellectual discourse and a perfect setting for budget debate as kosofe Local government Management hold a retreat as a prelude to the year 2022 budget presentation.

A classic resort, Lacasa Hotel, Epe was used as the venue for the year 2022 fiscal retreat.

The highly elated Chairman of the Council, Hon. Barr. Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe who declared the 3-day financial discussion opened reeled out his high expectations for the fiscal year.

He said, “We have embarked on a purposeful and developmental journey for the past 5 months, the purpose of which is to fulfil the objectives of being in the helm of affairs and also ensure that the impact of governance is felt by all and sundry in the Local government Council’.

Ogunlewe further said that the reason for the intellectual gathering was to objectively analyze, discuss and also reflect on the last year budget and by extension, make critical projections into this year thus, raising the bar of performance and improvement on the achievements of the council.

He implored all to be in unison as they embarked on bigger, better, purposeful and laudable projects in this fiscal year.

The council’s numero uno added that his administration has resolved to redouble his efforts in making people happy since they have appreciated them via the feedback mechanism put in place by the people themselves.

He further stated that virtually all important sectors in the council would receive attention as they make inroad into the year.

Ogunlewe listed the key areas as health sector, primary education and road construction while other sectors like electricity, environment, personnel development, sporting activities for the youths, purchasing of vehicles for police and school children among others would take the front burner in this year expenditures.

In his welcome address, the Head of Administration, Mr. MBS Arole appreciated the Chairman, all the Management staff, guests and other invitees for all round support given to the new administration.

Mr. Arole explained that the purpose of the retreat was for the preparation for year 2022 as a sustainable development for the entire Council.

Mr. Bello Bolaji did justice to the Year 2021 budget via a critical review and also a proposal for the year 2022 budget while the Head of Budget, Planning and Statistics, Mrs. Adeshina A. Adebola also delivered a lecture on capital overhead and expenditure.

The budget retreat witnessed intellectual debate and presentations on how to expand the revenue base of the council.

The lecture on planning as a tool of transformation was delivered by Mr Ismael Ogunbambi, Budget and Public Policy Expert, while a Health Talk on wellness of our Health was delivered by MOH, Dr. Oguntoyinbo K.
