The Lagos State Government has released the 20 local government and 37 local council development area council cabinet members.
The list comprises the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Supervisory Councilors, and Special Advisers, respectively.
Several All Progressives Congress party faithful who worked tirelessly for the party’s success last year and who spoke to Kosofe Post separately complained bitterly over undue delay in the composition of the cabinet.
Also, only a few women made the statutory lists in the local councils, which revealed that the inclusion of women in politics and governance without a legal framework will take a longer time to be achieved.

The long awaited final list, sighted by this medium, has been met with mixed reactions. Some supervisory councilors made the list, while others were dropped. The nominees approved by the Governor’s Advisory Council Members made the list, Toyin Oriyomi, a candidate of Member; House of Representatives, Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye shortlisted in Agboyi Ketu Lcda and lawmaker supporters in Ikosi Isheri LCDA got none.

While portfolios are yet to be assigned to council cabinet nominees, it is obvious that from the list, the council chairmen appointed trusted hands that could assist their administration in delivering a dividend of democracy to the grassroots seamlessly.
