[City People]Congratulations on your giant strides. How have the last 3 years been?
Thank you sir, the last 3 years have been a big learning curve for me in legislation. I have learnt the rudiments of the office. Our National Assembly I realized is a sensitive institution that requires time, huge efforts and the willingness in order to understand its intrigues and workings. Learning the best act of lobbying is key to one’s success at the National Assembly. I will say I have been able to walk through these which is evident in the various projects I have been able to facilitate for my Constituency Eti-Osa despite being a first timer in the house.
You have collected your form to re-contest, What are your chances of return?
Yes, I have picked up my form expressing my interest to be re-elected for a second term to represent the good people of Eti-Osa. This was after various consultations with the leaders and members of our great party in Eti-Osa. My chances of getting re-elected are very high, this is evident in the good relationship I have with my constituents and the constant outpour of love. I strongly believe with God and my people on my side, all will be well. Eti-Osa will be well represented in the National Assembly by my humble self come 2023.
No doubt you have done so well. But what does your scorecard look like in terms of performance?
I would definitely score myself well above average despite the expected teething experience of a first timer in the house and the long period of wait caused by the Covid-19 outbreak.
We moved motions, proposed bills, facilitated infrastructures in Eti-Osa, facilitated and sponsored empowerment programs, engaged the community in a yearly town hall meeting, contributed immensely to the development and ease of education for students of Eti-Osa, and supported various programs on the effect of climate change in Eti-Osa in regards to Sustainable Development Goals.
Let me say it here, the IBO brand is not about lip service or an idealistic approach, the IBO brand is about progressive, actual and realistic service. I have always been a part of Eti- Osa, the grassroots, corporates and elites, hence the term “your Neighbor’. Our experiences are the same, the good, bad and ugly, so I understand the need of my people and I have worked towards achieving all the promises we made during our campaigns. Armed with the knowledge and experience I have had in the past 3 years, come 2023, we will surpass the expectations of our people.
