2023 GENERAL ELECTIONS: THE IMPERATING OF PERMANENT VOTERS’ CARD (PVC)

No fewer than 30 prominent politicians in Lagos state were present at the programme themed: “2023 GENERAL ELECTION: THE IMPERATIVES OF PERMANENT VOTERS CARD (PVC) sponsored by Hon. Femi Saheed, Member, Lagos State of Assembly representing Kosofe Constituency 2, Hon

Femi Saheed gave a short speech on the topic where he stated that the South West has the lowest PVC collection rate.

He encouraged all the stakeholders within the community to create an awareness program where they can educate the people that anyone who has attained 18 years of age has the right to obtain his or her PVCs.

Femi further revealed that all loyal members of the APC political group should show solidarity towards the presidential ambitions of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the chosen candidate, while stating that this is the first time a Lagosian will emerge as the overall party candidate.

The INEC Chairman for Kosofe LGA, Mrs. Adeyemi Showunmi, stated emphatically that it’s important for every Nigerian to participate in the forthcoming general election; she clarified that the 2023 election will use BIVAS technology, which would recognize the face and fingerprint of anyone participating

She urged people that those with double registration should go to the Inec office to complain, while advising those who want to do a relocation transfer to visit the nearest inec polling centre.

Speaking with newsmen, a stakeholder within the Kosofe community, Hon Olugbenga Nona, said that people without PVCs will not be part of the electioneering process, hence the need to sensitize the public on the importance.

The Vice chairman, Mrs Folake Kehinde, said politicians are the people’s representatives.

He noted that Hon. Femi Saheed has continued to deliver the gains of democracy to all and sundry.

She urged Kosofe Constituency 2 members to visit the constituency office as soon as possible to notice any irregularities and file complaints.
