Oshinowo commissions borehole, 80,000 litre capacity storage tank to Lagos community

The Executive Chairman of the Agboyi Ketu Local Council Development Area of Lagos, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, commissioned 130m-depth reticulated portable borehole facilities for the Agboyi ancient community.

This was in view of providing a good water system and saving the environment while meeting the needs of the community.

The portable borehole water, water treatment plant, generating set and donation of a 80000 litre capacity storage tank were commissioned at Agboyi Primary School, Agboyi 1, Lagos, on Thursday.

While assuring the community of more developmental projects, he urged them to take ownership of the project. The chairman stressed that the council has put a sustainable partnership with the community in place for the maintenance of the legacy project.
 
Speaking to the pressmen, the Olu of Agboyi Kingdom, HRM Oba Monsuru Oladega, commended the council chairman for the critical life-saving water project.

“Over 30 years of no drinkable water in the community. Immediately, I ascended the throne. I discussed with the chairman that today’s commission is a testament to listening to the yearnings of the people.

He thanked the Chairman for his gesture and assured him that the community would make good use of water.

The Kosofe Post reports that the council chairman distributed 500 life jackets to residents of the riverine community.
