The Sweden-based international artist and photographer, Marketta Rokka, has disclosed how fulfilled she has always been, for every year she gets to live.
Marketta made this disclosure during an online interview with the Kosofe Post ahead of her stated birthday of January 2, 2023.
She said, “I am grateful for every year I get to live! I think I have a lot to give to the people and the world because I have the ability to develop into a better person every year.”
The international artist, photographer, humanitarian, and tourist said, “I have no plans to retire soon.”
According to her, “My plans for the new year include a lot of work-related travel, both in Sweden and in Europe, and maybe in Nigeria too!
“I treasured Nigeria the most with the enormous development that is happening in the country. The people are highly educated, and the will to develop seems to be on the rise. Well! I like Nigerians! They are cultural, artistic, and technically knowledgeable people. They are not afraid to comment on posts; they want to show what they like.”
Marketta, who has not visited Nigeria before, said, “I have many friends and clients in Nigeria. I have worked together with a friend in Nigeria; we have created Youtube videos together. He is a professional DOP.
“Many of my friends in Nigeria work in the movie industry in Nollywood. I find their friendship very rewarding because they share their experiences in the movie industry with me and show me how they create movies.
“My work as an artist and a photographer is a passion for me! As long as I can paint oil and watercolor paintings and hold a camera in my hand, I will continue with my work or have it as a hobby anyway,” says Marketta Rokka.
She noted that she will start the new year with a trip to a beautiful island called Tenerife for two weeks to experience photos of beautiful nature, exclusive hotels, and of course, the sea, which she loves most of all.
Tenerife is the largest of Spain’s seven Canary Islands. With its stunning black and golden beaches, an active volcano, unique ecological diversity (plants from all over the world can live and thrive on the island’s multiple climate zones), and charming cliffside towns, it’s no surprise that it’s also the most tourist-popular. A natural wonderland packed with adventure and no shortage of things to do, Tenerife graces many a bucket list.
