A resident of the Araromi-Gbagada area of Kosofe Local Government has commended the youths on their security and called on them to shun drug peddling.
The Kosofe Post reports that a lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 1, Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Babatunde, and the Abbey Cheche Foundation organized a separate enlightenment campaign and road walk to educate youth on the impact of drug abuse across Kosofe Federal Constituency in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
A resident of Adeleye, Olaleye, and Adeite Ogunsanya around Araromi Community has decried the rate of drug peddling and consumption while the landlord and security agents, reportedly closed to the environs, looked away.

Speaking with the Kosofe Post, Kemi Lawal commended the efforts of the youths in securing lives and properties. He, however, admonished the youths in the aforementioned communities and environs to stop destroying their lives and engage in meaningful sources of livelihood.
He said: “Adeleeye, Olayeye, followed the Adeite Ogunsanya… the area we are talking about is the Araromi Community in Kosofe Local Government. What normally happens in that community is that they’re very good at security; those landlord associations cooperate on anything concerning security, but they lack one thing: Some of their children in the community are selling drugs.”
He noted that their activities attract suspicious people from outside the community who take hard drugs.
He further noted that the streets he mentioned are very near the Ifako police station, and he expected them to know about the development.
While appealing for the establishment of an independent investigation committee to verify his claims, he urged the government to save the future of the youth and unborn children in the community and Kosofe.
Kemi advised the young people to distance themselves from bad influences and to shun drugs.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) could not be immediately reached for comment.
